Coffee Corner: Goodbye 2025
Coffee Corners are quick text posts about literature related things in my life
This year started with a bang: I learned the book I’m holding in my hands in the above photo was going to be published. Almost a year later, I have a box of author copies on their way to me. I have my book launch party planned. I got laid off, lost and regained friends, but the most enduring thing has been this book.
I still go back to this email chain and read it over and over. What a gift it is to be seen! My editor is a dream, she was so careful and constructive with her notes about this book. I’ve so enjoyed working with her this entire year.
What I’m Drinking
Same thing as last week, nothing new unfortunately!
What I’m Reading
If you know me, you know I love Jeanette Winterson. This book is magic. Its a perfect blend of memoir, fiction, and history. She makes some assertions that make me prickle but I am really enjoying reading this book as a whole. There’s just something about Winterson’s prose that brings me to my knees.
What’s New?
In the wake of losing my job, I’ve started doing manuscript consultations. You can contact me through my website if your interested, that’s where you’ll find details and instructions.
The preorder link for Hound Triptych will be available on January 20th. I will make a separate post here when it is live, but just notifying you now so you can save the date.
You can still register for my book launch! Even if you aren’t in Pittsburgh, they will also be livestreaming the event. Please come, I’d love to see you!
Goodbye 2025! What a year its been!
